English and/or ELL Teacher – Permanent (2026)

We are looking for an exceptional English and/or English as an Additional Language (EAL/ELL) teacher to join our collaborative, collegial and diverse English Learning Area. Experience teaching English as an Additional Language or teaching linguistically diverse learners is adventageous. Suitable candidates will have experience teaching Junior English and NCEA English.  To serve in our kura you must be a relational and student-centered practitioner who demonstrates effective classroom practice. We are looking for someone with a commitment to equity, strong culturally sustaining pedagogy and knowledge of the evolving NZ Curriculum.

We serve a predominantly Pasifika and Maaori community and are dedicated to serving our school community in mana-enhancing and culturally sustaining ways. For overseas teachers looking to relocate to New Zealand to teach, the terms and conditions including base salary for this position is set by the relevant collective agreement.  The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $59,305 to $95,400 depending on applicants qualifications and experience.  Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed
