Visual Arts Teacher 2026 (fixed term)

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic art kaiako to join our vibrant Visual Arts department. As one of Aotearoa - New Zealand’s largest and most diverse schools, with a roll of over 2,300 students, we proudly serve a predominantly Pasifika and Maaori community. Our commitment is to provide mana-enhancing, culturally sustaining education that reflects and uplifts our learners.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • A strong commitment to equity, culturally sustaining pedagogy, and a deep understanding of the evolving New Zealand Curriculum.
  • Knowledge of te ao Maaori and a dedication to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

This is a full-time, fixed-term role for 12 months.


For overseas teachers looking to relocate to New Zealand to teach, the terms and conditions including base salary for this position is set by the relevant collective agreement.  The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $59,305 to $95,400 depending on applicants qualifications and experience.   Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed
