Entries are now open to students interested in becoming part of the New Zealand Prix Jeunesse Youth Jury. Watch outstanding dramas, comedies, documentaries and magazine style TV shows from around the world and pick the winner from an impressive list of finalists.

Up to twenty* young New Zealanders (12yrs–15 yrs) will be selected for the New Zealand International Prix Jeunesse Youth Jury. Prix Jeunesse is the industry’s most prestigious international children’s television festival. The New Zealand jury will convene at South Seas Film and Television School, Auckland on the weekend of 22-23 March 2014. They will be responsible for viewing and selecting their winner for the 12-15 Fiction/Non-Fiction television category for the 2014 Prix Jeunesse Festival. The selected jury will have the opportunity to be part of an ongoing reference group on NZ television programming.

*Out of the 20 jury places available, eight jurors will be selected and sponsored by the Goethe-Institut from their Partner Schools.

    up to 250-word paragraph that explains why local kiwi stories are great on screen.  Entry closes at 9.00pm Friday 28 February 2014.

Important stuff (terms and conditions):

  1. All selected participants will need to have a release form signed by parents to allow filming and transcripts to be taken of the event.

  2. By submitting your written entry you grant a license to kidsonscreen (NZCST) to publish your written entry on its website and elsewhere.

  3. Jurors agree to be part of an ongoing reference group on local children’s television programming.

  4. Jurors must be able to attend the weekend of the 22/23 March in Auckland.

  5. You must be available both days and provide own transport to and from the venue if based in Auckland.

  6. Up to 3 jurors selected from out of Auckland will have flights sponsored up to a maximum value of $800 if suitable travel ar-

    rangments can be made. They will be provided with billeted accommodation. A parent/guardian release form for travel will be required.

  7. The judge’s decision is final.
