Attendance Officer (fixed term, full time) 2026- 2027

Starting in Term 1, 2026 (28 January 2026), we are seeking to appoint an Attendance Officer (AO) who is passionate about our Manurewa High School students, whaanau and community to help support students who are chronically absent and have disengaged from school.
 
 The Attendance Officer will track students who are chronically absent or at risk of being chronically absent. They will then collate and disseminate that information and work within the wider Student Support Team to help reduce chronic absenteeism.
 
 The AO will conduct home visits, whanau hui’s and facilitate Individual attendance plans in order to reduce barriers to students attending and support Hauora. The position will be part of our wider Student Support Team.


 To be considered for the positions applicants will have:
  ● High levels of cultural responsiveness
  ● Highly effective communication skills
  ● Strong relational management skills
  ● Strong organisation and self-management skills
  ● Ability to build community
  ● A qualification in youth work, social work (or at least extensive experience in a related field)
  ● Meet the requirements of the Children’s Act 2014 in order to work with students and their whaanau
  ● A full, clean and current NZ Driver Licence
 
 This position is fixed term for 2026 and 2027 and is due to funding provided by the Ministry of Education.
