Manurewa High School is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centred English & Media Studies teacher to join our collaborative, diverse and creative department.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working across both subject areas. The successful applicant will teach a mix of junior and senior English classes, alongside Media Studies across Years 10–13.

Our programmes are developed through collaborative planning and resourcing, with a strong focus on learning that is engaging, relevant and responsive to our ākonga. We are looking for someone who will contribute ideas, share effective practice and work collegially with the English & Media Studies Curriculum Leadership Team and wider department.

We value teachers who build strong relationships with ākonga and bring creativity, curiosity and a passion for language, storytelling and media. Strong culturally sustaining practice, a commitment to mana ōrite mō te mātauranga Māori, and an understanding of the evolving New Zealand Curriculum are essential.

Manurewa High School is one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s largest and most diverse secondary schools, with approximately 2,400 ākonga.
